Replica 1906 Teddy Bear by Steiff 403064

45cm Caramel mohair jointed bear. Made with wooden eyes and stuffed with wood shavings.

Steiff's Teddy bear replica 1906, This impressive replica comes in a 45 cm size and is based on the very rare and desirable 1905/1906 Steiff originals - such as the very famous Teddy Girl. Originally not invented as a design variation, centre seam bears were simply a matter of economy. They were a way to avoid waste of an extra piece of material that was left over after a Teddy bear had been cut out of his mohair. Our 1906 replica comes in a light faded caramel coloured long pile mohair plush. It looks like this Teddy has had seen a lot of sun over the decades. He examines the world through his shiny shoe button eyes handmade from solid wood. He is also tenderly stuffed with finest wood shavings. When you look at him closely, you will find a very subtle airbrushing around his eyes, nose and mouth stitching and on the felt of his paws. This suits perfectly the aged character of the splendid mohair plush that was developed exclusively for this 1906 Replica.

Limited Edition: 750
