Viktoria Teddy bear by Steiff 036910

32cm burgundy flock jointed bear

"My inspiration for this bear was a picture of Margarete Steiff sitting in a cushioned chair in the period of commercialism and industrialization," says the designer. "This time was the time of the upcoming bourgeoisie which used historical elements to show their prosperity. This time was also the time of upcoming and self-confident women who started to study or create their own career and were against suppression and paternalism. This was the time of Margarete Steiff starting her career! So I try to convey the feeling of history and modernity together."She further describes the bear as for women who want to feel like a princess" and those who "like to decorate modern flats with both modern elements and historical influences. I love the material which gives a feeling of castles, old time and prosperity as well as the black and sparkling bow." We're confident you'll love the contrast of old and new in Victoria, a new kind of bear from Steiff. It's something completely different for us.

Limited Edition: 1500
All steiff limited editions come with the famous Gold plated 'button-in-ear' with white tag and are supplied in a cream Steiff presentation box.

Steiff have been manufacturing bears and other collectable characters in their German Factories for over 125 years. As with all those characters made in the early days, it is still the manual skills and attention to detail that make each Steiff product wonderfully unique. Each Steiff bear is signified by a "Tag" in its left ear.
